TECHNICAL INFORMATION
CURTAIN & BOTTOM SEAL
Each curtain is made of individual aluminium slats which are insulated
with non-CFC foam. A dense brush seal (patent pending), firmly
secured to the inner face of the curtain, significantly reduces
operating noise and wear while providing excellent insulation
enhancement. The powder coated extruded aluminium bottom slat
provides greater deflection strength and incorporates 2 safety
stops plus a 20mm rubber seat.
GUIDE RAILS
75mm or 90mm wide x 35mm deep extruded aluminium guide rails incorporate
a running strip on the inside of the outer face. Where visible
from the outside, they can be powder coated as an optional extra.
90mm guides are supplied as standard on garage doors over 4600mm
overall width or as an option for enhanced security or wind resistance
on narrower widths.
HEADPLATES AND AXLE
The 3mm galvanised steel head plates are designed to fit into
the top of the guide rails for easy location during installation.
Universal brackets enable the motor to be located at either side
of the door, while flanged rollers (patent pending) significantly
reduce noise and wear. Axles are either 70mm octagonal or 100mm
round galvanised steel.
MOTOR
Each electrically operated door is powered by a 240V German engineered
Elero tubular motor. An internal manual override facility is supplied
as standard and comes complete with a detachable winding handle.
If required, an emergency low-level external manual override can
be ordered separately.
REMOTE CONTROL UNIT
A 240V control system with integral radio receiver and push button
is supplied with two mini transmitters as standard. Transmitters
have an automatic code which changes after each operation for
greater security, separate colour coded control buttons and a
low battery indicator. Lost transmitters can easily be deleted.
Radio controls are DTI approved 433 MHz frequency.
SAFETY PHOTOCELL
This device is designed to sense obstructions in the path of the
door. In the event that the infrared beam is broken while the
door is closing, the curtain stops immediately and then returns
to the fully open position. Safety photocells come complete
MANUAL OPERATION
Doors up to 300mm overall width can be manually operated. This
is achieved by fitting a torsion spring in place of the tubular
motor. The roller door is secured closed by a slam lock (patent
pending) and high security 7 pin lock, situated conveniently in
the centre of the curtain. This innovative mechanism means that
it is not necessary to hold the door down with one hand, while
operating a key with the other.

INSTALLATION OPTIONS
STANDARD FACE FIX INSTALLATION
Here the inside edge of the guide rails line up with the brick
opening. However the flush fitting head plates and flat design
of the guide rails make the size of the door and positioning of
the guide rails less critical. A subframe is not required unless
the structure is very uneven. Moreover, if maximising the width
of the opening is not important, an existing subframe can be retained
with the door installed in line with the timber opening
ALTERNATIVE FACE FIX INSTALLATIONS
Subject to achieving a secure fixing close to the corner of the
wall, the flat design of the guide rail facilitates overlapping
the opening by up to a maximum of 25mm on each side. This type
of installation is frequently required to negotiate cables or
pipes which are located in the corner of the garage. Alternatively,
the door can be manufactured oversize to cover the internal brick
reveals partially or completely.
REVEAL FIX - INSTALLATION IN THE OPENING OR BETWEEN WALLS
If the door is manufactured to the exact opening width, it can
be installed within the aperture. This may also depend on the
available headroom above to accommodate the coil. If the coil
is going to be visible from the outside, an external facia will
be required. Once again, as the outer edge of the guide rail and
the mounting plate are completely in line, the DP door can be
installed flat against any wall.
HEADROOM REQUIREMENT
The small coil diameter is one of the DP doors strengths. Just
300mm headroom is required inside the garage for doors up to 2500mm
opening height and 350mm for doors up to 3500mm opening height.
We strongly recommend that a minimum 55mm of bottom slat should
hang down into the guide rails when the door is fully raised.
below this is the drive through height. Consequently, if a completely
clear opening is required, the guide height will need to be a
minimum of 55mm taller than the opening. |
